The Beginning: A Call to Build from Australia
Garje Marathi Australia Inc. (GMAI) was established in 2024 with a vision of connecting Marathi professionals, entrepreneurs, students and families across Australia. Inspired by the global mission of Garje Marathi, the organisation was created to promote mentoring, knowledge sharing, entrepreneurship and community collaboration while preserving Marathi culture and values.
The journey began through the vision of Mr. Anand Ganu, Founder of Garje Marathi Global, and was brought to life in Australia under the leadership of Dr. Preetam Ghogale. A major milestone was achieved with the inaugural gathering in Melbourne on 9 March 2024, attended by around 50 participants, followed by a successful Sydney meet on 10 March 2024 with approximately 40 participants.
The movement quickly gained momentum as community leaders, professionals and volunteers came together to establish a platform focused on networking, mentoring, entrepreneurship, knowledge sharing and meaningful social contribution.
The successful inaugural meetings held in Melbourne and Sydney demonstrated the enthusiasm of the Marathi community and laid the foundation for a collaborative organisation that continues to strengthen connections across Australia and beyond.
